After Cap & Gown Graduation
Yes! You did it! Graduating is one of the greatest accomplishments anyone can achieve, and just knowing you put in so much time and effort to reach the point of being done is a great feeling. After the celebrations and connecting with family and friends, though, it starts to set in: What’s next?
THE CDC IS HERE TO HELP
After graduation, the Career Development Center is still here to assist you over the summer and beyond. As an alumni at Minnesota State University, Mankato, our services are provided to you at no cost. If you need to update your resume/cover letter, conduct a practice interview, or need help with the job search process, just stop by or call to schedule an appointment.
BRING THOSE CONNECTIONS ALIVE
This is your opportunity to connect or reconnect with people about great opportunities in your field of study. Learn from professionals with the same degree by scheduling an informational interview. An informational interview is a great way to learn about what is expected and learn of any additional skills necessary to acquire.
Tell your friends, family, group leaders, professors, and supervisors what your goals are. This can open doors to new connections and employment opportunities. Networking can reveal a lot of job openings you would not necessarily know about.
STAY ACTIVE DURING THE SEARCH PROCESS
Take this time to volunteer, get a part-time job, or do an internship related to your career goals to strengthen your skills and land your future dream job. Working or volunteering in areas related to your field of interest can be a great way to build up your resume.
