Getting re-recognized as an organization on campus is as easy as 1,2,3!

Re-recognition will be closing on September 30! Failure to have your RSO recognized means no student activities funding, loss of free access to university facilities as well as other lost benefits for at least the remainder of the semester.

So, what do you need to become an RSO for 2019-2020?

First, you need to prepare. Make sure your primary contact is updated in Engage to the person who will be the RSO’s primary contact for Fall 2019. Review your RSO Constitution and make sure everything is up-to-date. You’ll also need five-members who will be current MSU, Mankato students during Fall 2019. Lastly, verify your Mankato faculty/staff advisor will continue to be your RSO advisor for the 2019-2020 year.

Second, you’ll need to fill out the application. This includes updating your organization’s profile, roster, submitting the advisor’s information, uploading the updated constitution and completing the RSO Handbook Quiz.

Last but not least you’ll have to attend inauguration! The President or Vice-President of your organization will need to attend ONE of the following RSO Inaugurations:

  • Thursday, September 19, 2019, 4:00-6:00 PM – CSU 253/4/5
  • Wednesday, September 25, 2019, 4:00-6:00 PM – CSU 253/4/5
