There’s no doubt that college can be a stressful time in your life. It is always helpful to have resources you are able to turn to during difficult times.

Throughout the semester, the Counseling Center offers a helpful variety of presentations and seminars addressing obstacles you may be facing.

The 50-minute Discovering Yourself presentations designed to enhance personal and academic potential continue on Monday, Feb. 17, with Cultivating Calm. The presentation at 1 p.m. in CSU 202 focuses on anxiety awareness and management strategies.

Cultivating Calm is also a workshop that The Counseling Center offers to students every Thursday at 3:30 p.m. It is designed to help participants identify and cultivate their own version of being calm.

The Counseling Center also offers Behavioral Stress Management Instruction seminars. These are much like the Discovering Yourself presentations, however, they are more academic skill-based rather than topic-based.

The upcoming presentations for Discovering Yourself this month are:

  • Cultivating Calm: Feb. 17 at 1 p.m. in CSU 202
  • Building Empathy: Feb. 24 at 9 a.m. in CSU 204
  • Reducing Stress Through Mindfulness: Feb. 25 at 1 p.m. in CSU 204

The upcoming seminars for Behavioral Stress Management Instruction this month are:

  • Overcoming Worry: Feb. 19 at 11 a.m. in CSU 204
  • Overcoming Test Anxiety: Feb. 25 at 9 a.m. in CSU 204
