by EMMA GABBERT, CSU Public Relations Assistant

For a $1, participants could sample six different cupcakes at the Feb. 19 preliminary round of competition. Finals are Feb. 27.

University Dining Services and the Student Events Team launched its first Cupcake Bake Off with cupcake recipes submitted by the campus community.

Following the first round of the Cupcake Bake-Off completed Feb. 19, three finalists will compete with new recipes on Thursday, Feb. 27, at noon in the Centennial Student Union Hearth Lounge.

Inspired by the annual Chili Cook-Off each fall in the CSU, Brooke Stangret, Special Events chair for Student Events Team and event coordinator for the Cupcake Bake Off, wanted to create another friendly competition – this time, with something sweet.

‘The Cupcake Bake Off will be a really fun and laid back event that gets a lot of people involved on campus. I mean, who doesn’t like sweets?
