“People depend on food, it is not negotiable.” Swipe out Hunger was brought to Minnesota State Mankato three years ago through student Kara Svercl’s efforts. Swipe out Hunger makes an annual donation of meal swipes to the school, which students can apply for. This year marks the third year of the partnership. Food insecurity is not a new issue, but it is now being faced head-on.
