For this week’s Female Athlete of the Week, the inSIDER features Lily Paul, a senior distance runner on the MSU Women’s Track & Field team. Paul is from Cedar Grove, Wisc. Let’s get to know her.

  1. What three words best describe you?
    • Three words that best describe me are loud, fast, funny.
  2. What tops your list of pet peeves? 
    • My biggest pet peeve I can currently think of is chewing with your mouth open/smacking your lips
  3. As the only human left on Earth, what would you do?
    • If I was the only human left on Earth, I would either drive all the fast cars or eat all of the really good expensive food. 
  4. What’s the dumbest thing you’ve done that actually turned out pretty well?
    • The dumbest thing I have done that actually turned out pretty well is road trip with someone who has a manual car. I now know how to drive stick.
  5. Who is your all-time favorite sports star?
    • My all-time favorite sports star is Steve Prefontaine
  6. What is your most prized possession?
    • My most prized possession is my horse or family heirloom guns.
  7. What three items can always be found in your refrigerator?
    • Three items that can always be found in my fridge are 2% milk, eggs, and butter.
  8. What is the most impressive thing you know how to do?
    • The most impressive thing I know how to do is stick my tongue out with my mouth completely closed.
  9. Who’s your go to band or artist when you can’t decide on something to listen to?
    • My go-to artist right now is Ariana Grande.
  10. What movie title best describes your life?
    • The movie title that best describes my life is Spirit.
  11. What is the luckiest thing that has happened to you?
    • The luckiest thing that has happened to me is inheriting good running genes.
  12. What is something that a ton of people are obsessed with but you just don’t get the point of?
    • Everyone is obsessed with Converse shoes and I will never understand why (not cute or comfortable).
  13. If all jobs had the same pay and hours, what job would you like to have?
    • If all jobs had the same pay I would love to be a hunting outfitter or equestrian of any style.
  14. Who inspires you to be better?
    • My sisters Ali, Marina, and Chloe inspire me to be better.
  15. What is something you will NEVER do again?
    • Something I will NEVER do again is work retail.
  16. What TV show or movie do you refuse to watch?
    • I refuse to watch Game of Thrones.
  17.  If you could have a super power, what would it be?
    • If I could have a super power it would be teleportation because I’m always late.
  18. If you won the lottery, what is the first thing you would do? 
    • If I won the lottery the first thing I would do is buy my childhood house back
  19. What type of music would you (do you) sing in the shower? 
    • The type of music I sing in the shower is country.
  20. What do you like most about Minnesota State University, Mankato?
    • What I like most about Minnesota State University, Mankato is my sport and teammates.
