Maverick Spotlight: Nate Gunn

For this week’s edition of Maverick Spotlight, the inSIDER reshines the Maverick Spotlight on senior football running back Nate Gunn. In 2018, Gunn rushed for 1705 yards and 22 touchdowns and 6 receptions for 65 yards. Already this year, Nate has earned NSIC Offensive Player of the Week – the first Maverick to get the conference nod in nearly two years. After three Maverick victories to start the season, Gunn continues to be the engine driving the Maverick ground game with 483 yards and four touchdowns thus far in 2019. Last spring, Nate shared his outlook on life through our 20-question quiz. We thought it was worth repeating as we invite readers to get to know Nate Gunn.

- Competitive, investor, friend.
- What tops your list of pet peeves?
- When people don’t use their whole napkin.
- If you could be any animal, what would it be and why?
- Eagle, I get to see the world from the top and still be dominant.
- What’s the dumbest thing you’ve done that actually turned out pretty well?
- Pineapple on a pizza.
- Who is your all-time favorite sports star?
- Floyd “Money” Mayweather – he’s the best at 50-0 and doesn’t care who likes him and who doesn’t.
- What is your most prized possession?
- My grandma’s 50th year anniversary ring.
- What three items can always be found in your refrigerator
- Orange juice, bacon, French onion dip.
- If you didn’t have to sleep, what would you do with the extra time?
- Pick up a new hobby.
- What skill would you like to master?
- Cooking! (but don’t get it twisted I’m still a good cook)

- The movie “Life” – let’s you know putting yourself around the wrong crowd could ruin you.
- What is the luckiest thing that has happened to you?
- Finding Minnesota State Mankato after leaving USD (University of South Dakota)
- What is something that a ton of people are obsessed with but you just don’t get the point of?
- Freaking Fortnite.
- If all jobs had the same pay and hours, what job would you like to have?
- Flight attendant – cheap flights for life!
- Who inspires you to be better?
- Family, friends coaches, and teammates

- Parasailing (found out I get seasick)
