The Leadership Toolbox serves as an equivalent to weekly leadership workshops done by the student board members of Leadership U. This alternative method provides students with a resource to gain knowledge in leadership skills, without making a time commitment to scheduled meetings. The Leadership Toolbox contains 20 different topics relating to leadership such as, time management, strategic planning, collaboration, etc.

Emi Menk, the Assistant Director for RSOs, Leadership, and Nontraditional Students at Minnesota State University, Mankato, states how students can utilize the leadership toolbox to their benefit.

“Students may not always be able to go to a workshop or to different events, but we still wanted to have an opportunity for students to learn about a variety of resources related to leadership.”

The online leadership toolbox can be thought of as mini podcasts and scripts to guide you in your goal of becoming a better student leader.

You can find these topics on the Minnesota State University, Mankato’s website at the link below: https://mankato.mnsu.edu/university-life/activities-and-organizations/leadership-u/leadership-toolbox/

However, you can also stop by the student activities office on the first floor of the Centennial Student Union and check out the leadership toolbox display. Resembling a smartphone, the display has squared sections of the topics, made to look like phone apps, with paper copies of the main ideas in the audio recording of each tool in the leadership toolbox. Strengthen your leadership skills at your own pace!
