The Mavericks could not be more excited to host the 15th annual Hockey Day Minnesota!

Hockey Day Minnesota 2021 will take place at Blakeslee Stadium. It is the first time the outdoor hockey event is in southern Minnesota and on a university campus.

“We are thrilled for Mankato to host Hockey Day Minnesota 2021,” Minnesota Wild President Majka said in a press release. “With passion for all levels of hockey in the city, including their Division 1 men’s and women’s hockey teams at Minnesota State University, Mankato, we believe the community has demonstrated tremendous enthusiasm and commitment for hosting a great celebration at next year’s Hockey Day Minnesota.”

The 2021 announcement took place on the outdoor ice following a women’s college hockey game between Minnesota and Ohio State. Wayne Petersen, Wild director of marketing, revealed the locations by displaying a green number 21 Wild Jersey with Mankato on the name tag.

“We believe the community has demonstrated tremendous enthusiasm and commitment for hosting a great celebration at next year’s Hockey Day Minnesota.”

Matt Majika, Minnesota Wild President

Hockey Day Minnesota, was introduced in 2007 by the Minnesota Wild to celebrate the game that has made Minnesota the State of Hockey. It is produced annually in partnership with FOX Sports North, Minnesota Hockey and that year’s host community.

Additional details, including the date and official schedule for Hockey Day Minnesota 2021 will be announced at a later date.
