The Women’s Center is more than a place for women to hang out.

The center on the upper level of the Centennial Student Union (CSU 218) provides an essential service as a safe space to discuss gender equality and societal issues that impact the Minnesota State Mankato campus.

Serving as the home of Women of Action, Women for Global Leadership Board, IGNITE: Women in Politics and Students for Reproductive Freedom, the Women’s Center hosts a variety of events to raise awareness about gender injustice and female empowerment.

Also located within the Women’s Center, the Violence Awareness and Response Program provides support and intervention on a range of issues that include intimate partner violence, sexual assault, stalking, or sexual harassment.

Another feature of the Women’s Center is providing needed personal items. The center carries complimentary menstrual products, safe sex kits and lactation supplies. A lactation room is available in the bathroom across from the center.

While students know about the Women’s Center, a large number of students are unaware of the products and services they provide.

‘People know of the Women’s Center, but they don’t know about the services we offer.’

Jason Domstrand, Women’s Center Student Worker
