This week’s Male Athlete of the Week is Bryce Thompson. Thompson is a junior on the MSU Mens Golf team. Thompson is from Chisago Lakes, MN. Thompson’s accolades include being name to the All-NSIC Second team in the 2016-2017 season, as well as being named NSIC Men’s Golfer of the Week in 2018 after carding rounds of 70, 76 and 68 and his 214 (+1) placing him second at the Holiday Inn Express Classic held in St. Joseph, Mo., Oct. 9-10, 2018. Let’s get to know Bryce better.

  1. What three words best describe you?
    • Positive, Driven, Friendly 
  2. What tops your list of pet peeves? 
    • Dirty dishes
  3. As the only human left on Earth, what would you do?
    • Try to figure out how to add more humans
  4. What’s the dumbest thing you’ve done that actually turned out pretty well?
    • Dropped my phone in the hot tub last week, but I was due for an upgrade anyways so I got a new one. So that kind of worked out 
  5. Who is your all-time favorite sports star?
    • Tiger Woods
  6.  What is your most prized possession?
    • My golf clubs
  7.  What three items can always be found in your refrigerator
    • Hot Sauce, apples, grandmas homemade jam 
  8.   What is the most impressive thing you know how to do?
    • Golf at a high level 
  9.  Who’s your go to band or artist when you can’t decide on something to listen to?
    • Eric Church
  10.  What movie title best describes your life?
    • Step Brothers (because I think it’s funny and I like to enjoy myself) or Happy Gilmore (because I like to golf)
  11.  What is the luckiest thing that has happened to you?
    • Meeting my girlfriend by far
  12.  What is something that a ton of people are obsessed with but you just don’t get the point of?
    • Not sure
  13.  If all jobs had the same pay and hours, what job would you like to have?
    • Pro Golfer
  14. Who inspires you to be better?
    • My girlfriend and my family

    • Stick my tongue on a frozen pole

    • Magic Mike or 50 shades of grey

    • Ability to fly

    • Give money back to my parents for taking care of me over the years
