Cuddly Animals, Cover Songs, Steel Drums, Ping Pong Balls…And FREE Hotdogs; It’s CSU Mall Fest on April 28

On Wednesday, April 28, you could hang out with a llama, hear the cool sounds of a steel drum, rock out to your favorite cover song, snag a winning ping pong ball and top it off with a free hot dog. All right on the campus mall.

It’s part of the outdoor fun planned for the annual CSU Mall Fest hosted by Centennial Student Union in cooperation with the Student Events Team.

The annual end-of-the-year fun fest starts at 10:45 a.m. on the Fountain Mall with a steelpan performance by the music department’s Maverick Steel. This will be followed at 11 a.m. by Fat City All-Stars. The CSU Serendipity Music Series welcomes this regional rock and country cover band playing until 1 p.m. from a song list of nearly 100 high energy tunes.

From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., a petting zoo on the mall allows the campus community to get up-close and personal with a variety of farm and domesticated critters.

At noon, the Student Events Team will host its annual 1,000 Ways to Win ping pong drop – physical distancing edition.

Of course, the CSU Mall Fest wouldn’t be complete without free hot dogs, chips and a beverage. Serving will begin at 11:30 a.m.

Should the weather not cooperate, most of the events will be moved to Thursday, April 29, except the Fat City All-Stars performance which will be moved Wednesday into the CSU Hearth Lounge.

So come take a break. Relax outside with music, cuddly animals, free food and a chance a cool prizes as the CSU Mall Fest marks the end of a challenging school year and the arrival of spring.
