International Student Association Candidates’ Debate, March 31; Election Set to Run through April 2.

The International Student Association Election Committee will host a 2021-22 Presidential and Vice Presidential debate on Wednesday, March 31, at 6:30 p.m. on Zoom at https://link.mnsu.edu/isadebate

Candidate teams running for President and Vice President include: 

  • Cristian Lopez Calderon as the Presidential Candidate from Ecuador and Jason Taruvinga as the Vice Presidential Candidate from Zimbabwe
  • Waleed Mehmood Sulehri as the Presidential Candidate from Pakistan and Saudi Arabia and Moustafa Abdelaziz as the Vice- Presidential Candidate from Egypt

Voting will begin online following the debate and continue until Friday, April 2. The winning team will be announced that evening. A link to the voting poll will be released shortly.

ISA Presidents and Vice Presidents are elected by the popular vote of the international student body. Candidates run in pairs and are counted as one ticket. Voters will select the team of their choice. Campaigning for the election, as well as voting, must be virtual-only for COVID safety precautions.
