Mall Fest Offers 1,000 Ways To Win, Have Food and Have Fun on Wednesday, April 27

CSU & Student Events Team Plan Fun Day To Close Semester

It’s become a tradition. Get outside. Grab a hot dog. Hang out with cool farm animals. Listen to live music. Grab a dropped ping-pong ball for a prize. All you have to do is channel sunshine for the day and show up.

On Wednesday, April 27, the tradition continues as the Centennial Student Union and the Student Events Team combine forces on the Campus Mall for the spring version of CSU Mall Fest and Student Events Team 1,000 Ways to Win.

Activities start at 10:30 a.m. as the Music Department features a short performance by the Steel Drum Band. The stage is set for more live music as Mark Joseph and the American Soul perform on the mall from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. to conclude the spring schedule for the CSU Serendipity Music Series.

At 11 a.m. the Hasse Family Zoo returns with its assortment of loveable farm animals as students are invited to enter the free petting zoo going until 2 p.m. on the mall lawn.

Free food arrives at 11:30 a.m. with hot dogs, chips and a drink offered while supplies last.

At noon, the mechanical lift will suspend members of the Student Events Team who will pitch handfuls of ping-pong balls down to the waiting crowd on the mall. Those numbered balls can be redeemed for prizes.

A NEW EVENT at this year’s spring mall event is a selfie and autograph opportunity with members of the Maverick men’s hockey team. The team recently returned as national runners-up in the 2022 NCAA Frozen Four Hockey Championship.

IN CASE OF WEATHER: Should the weather not cooperate, Mall Fest events will be moved to Thursday, April 28, except for the performance by Mark Joseph and the American Soul. Their Wednesday performance will be moved indoors to the CSU Hearth Lounge.
