The annual cause for raising funds for sick and injured children may move online but plans for the 2021 Mavathon move forward.
This year’s Mavathon on Saturday, Feb. 20, 6 p.m. to 7:15 p.m., is a school-wide philanthropic event that raises funds and brings awareness to children that are sick or injured.
Mavathon is the kick-off event to the ‘For the Kids Week’ happening April 12 to April 16.
Money raised during this event supports Gillette’s Children’s Specialty Healthcare in St. Paul, MN.
Mavathon is hosted in the Centennial Student Union Ballroom.
The Mavathon will host activities including the opening ceremony, guest speakers, trivia, minute to win it games, Cardz for the Kidz, and virtual bingo.
Virtual bingo begins at 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., including 10 rounds of bingo and a variety of prizes totaling up to $1,500! Access the zoom link HERE.
Mavathon is inspired by “Miracle Network Dance Marathon,” which benefits Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals is a non-profit organization that raises funds and awareness for over 170 pediatric hospitals across North America.
Mavathon will connect with and recognize patient families and participate in fun activities. Families sponsored by Mavathon attend the event to share their stories along with emphasizing the importance of philanthropic support.
