The Minnesota State University, Mankato senior dental hygiene class is hosting its 6th annual “Miles for Smiles” 5K Fun Run/Walk on Saturday, Oct. 5. Check-in starts at 9 a.m., with the run beginning at 10 a.m.
The event will be at the Minnesota State Mankato fitness trail, near the southeast corner of Parking Lot 1.
Proceeds raised will fund a March 2020 spring break trip by senior dental hygiene students to Belize, to provide dental work for those in need.
Brigette Cooper, the dental hygiene department chair, said “100 percent of the proceeds go directly to the student’s travel expenses.”

Corporate sponsorship of $250 includes six registrations and event t-shirts printed with the business name on back.
The dental hygiene department also is accepting tax-deductible donations of any amount.
