by KARA ALLEN, CSU Student Public Relations Assistant
In honor of last week being Thanksgiving and the beginning of the holiday season begins, I am becoming increasingly aware of the difficulty that the holiday season brings. Especially this year when so many factors have contributed to loss and heartbreak. That being said, I am trying to reprogram the way I look at life. This is the start of my attempt.
thanksgiving I hope you were thankful this year. In a time where it is too simple to be angry with the world: I hope you complicate your life with romance. I hope you entangle yourself in colors and aromas and people and yourself. I hope you make snow angels in the snow and get sore cheeks from smiling. I hope you seek only the things that are worth your worries. I hope you rise by lifting others. I hope you are thankful for something beautiful Whether it’s elegance in your favorite book or your new twinkle lights. I hope you are thankful for something kind Whether it’s your freshly washed sheets on your skin or seeing smiling eyes behind a mask. I hope you are thankful for something difficult Whether it’s your own mind or a jigsaw puzzle. I hope you give something selfless to others Whether it’s forgiveness or the last piece of pie. I hope you give something wise to others Whether it’s your listening ear or your favorite song I hope you give something true to others Whether it’s eye contact or your old t-shirt.
