Revised April 9, 2020 – Friday Bingo added to online events
The Student Events Team has developed an online series for the Minnesota State University, Mankato student body. The series provides opportunities for students to connect with each other and the university during the Covid-19 pandemic.
“In this time of concern and emphasis on social distancing, we wanted to bring in some positivity to students’ lives.” said Brandon Weideman.
MONDAYS: Baking With Brandon
The series begins with a weekly video titled Baking with Brandon. Brandon Weideman, a music industry undergraduate, will post a weekly baking video for students wanting a little treat.
The event will feature recipes that are easy to bake and with few ingredients. Recipes will include peanut butter cookies and more. Videos will be posted every Monday at 11am on all Students Events Team social media channels.
Tuesdays will feature the #MAVChallenge on social media posted at 10 a.m. The weekly competition encourages Mavericks to post on social media a photo, gif, or short video of the weekly challenge.
To be eligible, students must post the photo on Instagram or Facebook using the #mavchallenge, tag at least one friend, and @studenteventsteam. Every Wednesday a first, second, and third-place winner will be announced online.
