Some might be wondering if the large structure located near the free parking lot is operational. Others might be wondering if we even have a dome. Rest assured that we do have a dome and it is operational.
Although some changes might happen in the near future, the dome is open . As long as you bring your MavCard to check-in, any student can utilize the dome during the open hours.
The dome always has at least one field open for recreational use between Sunday and Thursday from 7 to 11 p.m. There is currently one field reserved for pickup kickball games on Sundays from 7 to 9 p.m.
Spike balls, bag sets, and kickballs are all available for checkout, and students can play catch with footballs, baseballs, and frisbees or shoot soccer balls.
It is important to note that full soccer or football games are not allowed or any other activity that could jeopardize the safety of others by not allowing adequate social distancing.
There is a possibility that open rec opportunities will open up (with full masking), however, there are still details to be discussed with the university’s risk management team as well as the Minnesota Department of Health.
If you are looking for a place to exercise and have some fun but do not feel like enduring the cold harsh winter weather that is fast approaching, make sure to check out the dome located at 1910 Monks Ave (south of the intersection of Monks Avenue and Stadium Road).
