Five Mavericks Set to Join Hockey Action Aug. 4-11 at Women’s National Festival

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Five Minnesota State women’s hockey team players and several coaches will represent the Mavericks in Lake Placid, New York in August for the Women’s National Festival.
 
Representing Minnesota State as players are Jenessa Gazdik (D, Somerset, Wis.), JuliAnna Gazdik (D, Somerset, Wis.), Sydney Langseth (F, Eden Prairie, Minn.), Jamie Nelson (F, Andover, Minn.) and Whitney Tuttle (F, Rosemount, Minn.).
 
The camp is scheduled for August 4-11 at Herb Brooks Arena. The roster for the U.S. Under-18 Select Team and U.S. Collegiate Select Team will be named at the conclusion of camp. 
 
Those two teams will stay an extra week for a three-game series with Team Canada in St. Catherines, Ontario for games on August 14, 15 and 17.

 MSU head coach Shari Dickerman will again be an assistant coach with the Women’s National Team and MSU assistant coach Mackenzie Bruch will serve as goaltenders coach for the U18 team. Associate Head Coach Coach Jeff Giesen will serve as U18 Scout.

The USA Hockey Women’s National Festival is a week-long event that takes place annually. In total, there will be 30 professional and 45 collegiate women’s hockey players at this year’s festival along with 76 U18 players.
 
The camp roster includes the top players in the country from the U18 level to the national team and players will participate in practice sessions and scrimmages throughout the camp.
