New Documentary Follows Past Decade’s Rise of the Spirited Maverick Machine

Among the gems adding to the sparkle of 2024 Homecoming Day at Minnesota State Mankato is the unveiling of a 55-minute documentary, “The Return of THE MACHINE,” tracing the rocketed rise of the Maverick Machine as the musical heartbeat of Maverick spirit. Following the free premiere Saturday, Oct. 5, at 5 p.m. in the Performing Arts Center, the video is available for viewing on the Maverick Machine YouTube Channel.

CSU Unveils “Sittin’ with Stomper” Statue as the Newest Landmark on Campus

A new bronze statue commissioned by the Centennial Student Union entitled Sittin’ with Stomper was unveiled in the CSU on Wednesday, Jan. 17. The statue features the University’s beloved mascot, Stomper, seated on an 8-foot bronze bench that will be permanently placed on the main level of the CSU. A plaque commemorating the spirit of the statue was also installed near the sculpture.

Denisha Cartwright Sprints Into NSIC Championship as One of Best in the Nation

Maverick sophomore sprinter Denisha Cartwright heads into the NSIC Outdoor Track & Field Championships ranked among the nation’s fastest NCAA Division II sprinters. The Nassau, Bahamas, native earned her fourth NSIC Track Athletic of the Week this outdoor season following the Deb Schulz Open at Minnesota State Mankato. She is also a member of the Mavericks 400-meter relay team which holds this spring’s top time in Division II.
