The freshman from South Dakota came up big in the women’s softball doubleheader against Concordia-St. Paul this past Thursday. In their first game, Sydney Nelson blasted a three-run homer in the sixth inning to clinch a 6-0 victory for the Mavericks. Nelson finished the game 1-3 with three RBI on her sixth inning homer.

With bases loaded in the second game and two outs in the first inning, Nelson obliterated the ball for a grand slam over center field for her second home run of the day and fourth of the season. Nelson finished the game 1-3 with all four RBI coming from her first inning grand slam.
