Foerner and Kretche Named to D2Football.com Elite 100 Watch List

Minnesota State seniors Marshall Foerner and Maven Kretche have been named to D2Football.com’s Elite 100 Watch List.

The D2Football.com Elite 100 Watch List was selected by the staff of D2Football.com with the input of numerous sitting head coaches as well as professional football scouting veteran Josh Buchanan. The players listed in this release represent the official watch list for the D2Football.com 2024 Elite 100 Team, which will be announced at the conclusion of the season.

An offensive lineman from Plano, Ill., Marshall Foerner was named Elite 100 First Team Offense after playing in all 12 games last season, including 11 starts. Foerner was named to the All-NSIC First Team and the D2CCA All-Super Region Four Second Team as he helped the Mavericks rush for 2,548 yards and 28 touchdowns. Foerner has played in 33 games during his three seasons with the Mavericks, including 29 starts.

A defensive lineman from Sun Prairie, Wis., Maven Kretche started in all 12 games for the Mavericks last season as he led the team in tackles for loss with 13 and sacks with 10.5. He would go on to earn All-NSIC First Team honors, before garnering AFCA All-American Second Team accolades. Kretche has played in 35 games during his three seasons with the Mavericks and has recorded 26 tackles for a loss and 17 sacks.

Minnesota State opens its season on Thursday, August 29, as travels to Maryville, Mo., to take on Northwest Missouri State. Kickoff is scheduled for 6 p.m. at Bearcat Stadium.
