FLYING HIGH: Aviation Programs and Partnerships are Launchpad for Tomorrow’s Demands

The demand for highly skilled commercial pilots is being answered by Minnesota State Mankato’s nationally-accredited Aviation Program that shares partnerships with leading airlines. In keeping up with the industry, the program this fall offers drone flight instruction, expanded jetliner simulation training, and aerobatics training for the programs 600 students. A Fall 2024 rollout is expected for a new online master’s degree in Aviation Safety.

Jason Kaufman, Ph.D., Ed. D., professor of Educational Leadership at Minnesota State Mankato, uses Star Trek storylines to show leadership qualities of communication, patience and relationship. He and colleague Aaron Peterson, Ed.D., have published two articles on the classroom approach with a book on the Star Trek perspective coming out in 2023.
