Ashton Lee is a Senior from Coal Valley, Ill. In 2018, Lee saw action in 96 sets and ranked fourth on the Mavericks with 144 kills and second with 81 blocks. Lee also contributed 11 kills in a match on three different occasions during the course of the season.

  1. What three words best describe you? Hard-working, loyal, passionate.
  2. What tops your list of pet peeves People chomping on gum or food loudly
  3. If you could be any animal, what would it be and why? A dolphin, they have always been my favorite animal because they are strong and graceful.
  4. What’s the dumbest thing you’ve done that actually turned out pretty well? Drove 33 hours straight with friends on a road trip
  5. Who is your all-time favorite sports star? Kerri Walsh-Jennings
  6. What is your most prized possession? My personal library of books. I love to read.
  7. What three items can always be found in your refrigerator? Milk, eggs, yogurt
  8. If you didn’t have to sleep, what would you do with the extra time? Travel
  9. What skill would you like to master? Photography
  10. What movie title best describes your life? Overcomer
  11. What is the luckiest thing that has happened to you? Finding Minnesota State University, Mankato
  12. What is something that a ton of people are obsessed with but you just don’t get the point of? Cars
  13. If all jobs had the same pay and hours, what job would you like to have? A speech pathologist because it is my current plan, and it is what I am passionate about. I am excited to serve and help others.
  14. Who inspires you to be better? My parents and my brother.
  15. What is something you will NEVER do again? Drop a dumbbell on my finger.
  16. What is something you think everyone should do at least once in their lives? Surfing
  17. If you could have a super power, what would it be? Flying
  18. If you won the lottery, what is the first thing you would do? I would give back to my hometown that has given so much to me by putting money into a community center.
  19. If you could witness any event past, present or future, what would it be? My parents growing up and seeing how they met.
  20. What do you like most about Minnesota State University, Mankato? It’s my home away from home. I am grateful that I have the privilege of being a student-athlete with access to incredible facilities, professors, and coaches.
