On Thursday, March 23, Dr. William Cooke, physician, author, and rural health advocate, is coming to campus to speak about his book Canary in the Coal Mine. His book chronicles his journey of fighting two unprecedented healthcare disasters: an opioid epidemic and the worst drug-fueled HIV outbreak ever seen in a rural American community. This event will take place from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in Ostrander Auditorium, and is free for all Minnesota State Mankato students, staff, and faculty. No registration required.
