Statistics show that 100 percent of black elementary school girls experience hair discrimination by the age of 10. The Crown Act passed in Minnesota in 2023 prohibits race-based hair discrimination, which is the denial of employment and educational opportunity. Come join the Black Student Union, African American Affairs, and The Women’s Center in celebrating the Crown Act. There will be conversations, food, and hair product prizes.
