Extravagant Merge of Cultures in the Indo-Bangla Night Event

The Indian and Bangladesh RSOs merge to create the Indo-Bangla night event in the CSU Ballroom from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday, Mar. 26. Not only will the event celebrate the Indian and Bangladesh cultures, but students can immerse themselves in fantastic colors, performances, fashion, historical facts, food, and win prizes.

“We’re gonna have something for everyone to enjoy.”

Siene Haq, PR Coordinator

What Performances and Fashion?

Minnesota State Mankato students and alumni will dance for attendees. Designs, lights, makeup, and intricate patterns are all you can expect from the visuals of the performances. During the fashion show, attendees will see how the gowns evoke a royal and wedding aesthetic, adding to the extravagance of the event.

“When I’m trying to portray my culture, I want people to be wowed by it- and they will be,” PR Coordinator Siene Haq said.

But the fun doesn’t end there: during all performances, there will be multiple, fast costume changes.

“There are quick changes that will be less than 10 seconds,” Haq said.

What Food Will be Provided?

All-you-can-eat, four-course multinational food will be served around 7 p.m. in the CSU Ballroom.

“We are trying to make it more authentic by frying the spices ourselves, salting them ourselves, there’s not gonna be any packet mixes or anything like that,” Haq said. “I am for sure- you will taste better food than any other Indian places you have seen around campus, Shawarmania, or even in the cities. We are trying to guarantee that you will get one of the best foods you might have had in a long time.”

How Do I Sign Up?

Students must purchase tickets online for $10. Once you purchase tickets, you will be sent a confirmation message that you can show the event organizers on the night of the event!

“$10 you’ve spent is gonna be worth every single penny you see,” Haq said. “We’re gonna have something for everyone to enjoy.”

What About the Prizes?

Just to hint at the prize possibilities, questionnaires will be scattered around the event or your name might be drawn for $10-20 gift cards. But it’s still a surprise!
