Inauguration Ceremony for President Edward Inch Includes Four Days of Campus Activities Sept. 6-9

A week that includes Pizza with the President and a special day of volunteer service and an opportunity to take in all the great research and academic programs on campus will culminate Friday, Sept. 9, with the official inauguration of Dr. Edward Inch as the 13th president of Minnesota State Mankato.

Already leading the University since taking office July 1, 2021, Dr. Inch will officially be sworn in as President Inch at the Sept. 9 Inauguration Ceremony at 3 p.m. in Bresnan Arena in the Taylor Center. The ceremony offers the President to share is vision for the University shaped during his initial year in the president’s office.


KEYC NEWS REPORT OF INAUGURATION ACTIVITIES


The inauguration ceremony brings together students, alumni, faculty, staff and civic leaders to celebrate the University’s heritage and mission, its traditions and its commitment to learning and engaging the community.

Activities during the week include:

TUESDAY, SEPT. 6: Faculty & Staff BBQ

Events leading up to the ceremony will begin Tuesday, Sept. 6, with the Faculty & Staff BBQ moved this year from President’s Convocation to Inauguration Week. Dining will be from 11:30 a.m. 1:30 p.m. in the CSU Ballroom.

TUESDAY, SEPT. 6: Pizza with the President

Later that day, students are invited to have Pizza with the President from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on the Preska

Lawn. All students are invited to come grab food, take pictures, play games and have a fun time.

WEDNESDAY, SEPT 7: Maverick Day of Service

Students, faculty and staff are encouraged to participate in service activities on the Maverick Day of Service.

THURSDAY, SEPT. 8: Scholar Walk (open to the public)

Take a self-guided tour across campus between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. to get a behind-the-scenes look at the incredible research and learning being conducted at Minnesota State Mankato.

FRIDAY, SEPT 9: President Inch Inauguration Ceremony (open to the public)

All are welcome to attend this historic University event at 3 p.m. in Bresnan Arena.
