Kolbe O’Brien is a redshirted sophomore. In 2018-19 Kolbe boasted a 17-4 overall record and a 2-1 dual record. Wrestled at 141 pounds, he took first place at the Luther College Open, placed second at the Augsburg Open, placed fifth at the Buena Vista Open and placed fifth at the Ridgewater Open.
“Some words about myself is that I’m from South Elgin IL, I am a 133lb wrestler and I love MSU!”
We asked Kolbe a few burning questions to get to know him a little better!
1. What three words best describe you? Fun, hardworking, and listening.
2. What tops your list of pet peeves? When people are always late.
3. If you could be any animal, what would it be and why? A lion because I’d be the king of the jungle.
4. What’s the dumbest thing you’ve done that actually turned out pretty well? Bought expensive clothing.
5. Who is your all-time favorite sports star? Michael Jordan
6. What is your most prized possession? My Alexa
7. What three items can always be found in your refrigerator? Milk, cheese, and eggs
8. If you didn’t have to sleep, what would you do with the extra time? Read more books.
9. What skill would you like to master? Playing the piano.
10. What movie title best describes your life? Just Go With It
11. What is the luckiest thing that has happened to you? I’m lucky to be alive.
12. What is something that a ton of people are obsessed with but you just don’t get the point of? Going to music concerts.
13. If all jobs had the same pay and hours, what job would you like to have?Uber driver.
14. Who inspires you to be better? My teammates.
15. What is something you will NEVER do again? Go on a roller coaster.
16. What is something you think everyone should do at least once in their lives? Leave the country.
17. If you could have a super power, what would it be? Super speed.
18. If you won the lottery, what is the first thing you would do? Buy a sailboat.
19. If you could witness any event past, present or future, what would it be?The moon landing to see if it was real.
20. What do you like most about Minnesota State University, Mankato? The students.
