Mavericks’ Joey Batt Named To Women’s Basketball All-Central Region First Team

Mavericks’ star guard Joey Batt was named to the D2CCA Women’s Basketball All-Central Region First Team for her performance in 2023-24.

Batt, in 26 games for Minnesota State, averaged 15.8 points, 2.8 rebounds, three assists and 3.6 steals per game while shooting 47% from the field, 35% from three and 80% from the free throw line.

The New Ulm, Minn., native was named both the NSIC Outstanding Senior of the Year as well as the NSIC Defensive Player of the Year for the third time in her career. She was also named to the NSIC All-Conference First Team and after Batt led the Mavericks to their first conference tournament championship in program history, she was named the tournament’s Most Valuable Player.

Batt is the all-time leader in steals (360) and is second in scoring (1,854) in Minnesota State women’s basketball history.
