The Minnesota State Mankato Dance Team claimed the Open Division championships in both the Jazz and Pom categories at the 2024 Universal Dance Association’s College Nationals. Minnesota State Mankato was the only dance team in the competition to claim TWO national championships.

Dr. Brenda Flannery has been named interim vice president for student success and engagement at Minnesota State Mankato, effective Jan. 2. Flannery, who served as dean of the College of Business from July 2011 to June 2023, was appointed to the interim position vacated by Dr. Lynn Akey. Akey was named chancellor at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside effective Jan. 2.

Contracted electric scooter service from Bird Rides, Inc., is expected to remain uninterrupted for Minnesota State Mankato after the company filed for Chapter 11. Under Chapter 11 bankruptcy a company is able to stay in business as it reorganizes is finances and obligations.
Minnesota State University, Mankato President Edward Inch announced today that Sheri Sargent has been promoted to chief of staff and vice president for administrative services, effective immediately. Sargent has served as chief of staff at Minnesota State Mankato since October 2018 and as the University’s executive administrative officer since January 2017.
Minnesota State Mankato will award 1,772 degrees to 1,617 students at the end of the fall 2023 semester, with approximately 700 students planning to participate in commencement ceremonies scheduled for 9 a.m. and noon Saturday, Dec. 9 in Taylor Center’s Bresnan Arena.
Minnesota State Mankato moved up one spot and ranks eighth nationally in international student population among master’s institutions, according to an annual Open Doors Report released Nov. 13 by the Institute of International Education. The ranking based on Fall 2022 enrollment showed 1,711 international students.
The Fraternity and Sorority Chapters will host a Meet the Greeks night on Wednesday, Jan. 17, from 8 to 10 p.m. in CSU 253/4/5 following recent election of 2024 FSL officers. Alyssa McCulloch, of Sigma Sigma Sigma, was elected President of the Panhellenic Council and Kaden Schafer, Sigma Nu, was named President of the Interfraternity Council. New officers will serve during the 2024 calendar year.
