I want to switch gears a bit and talk about something that I have wanted to do for a long time. DIY my own macrame plant hanger!

Macrame uses multiple knotting techniques to create beautiful, often intricate textiles. Macrame plant hangers are designed to display your favorite greenery from the wall or ceiling.

I have been intrigued by macrame for quite some time and decided its time to give it a shot. Here is a step by step guide to creating your own! (Bare with me, I’m new at this!)

Step 1: Gather materials. You will need a plant pot, sash cord, and scissors.
Step 2: Cut four equal size pieces of long rope.
Step 3: Fold them in half and tie a knot at the top.
Step 4: Separate the rope into pairs.
Step 5: Tie an even row of knots.
Step 6: Tie alternating ropes together in an even row. Tie the outer rope together to create a basket.
Step 7: Gather all the rope at the bottom and tie a knot. Finish with a plant. (which I don’t have yet)

There you have it! Add your favorite plant, and hang it up on the wall or ceiling.
