Maverick Men’s Basketball Head Coach Matt Margenthaler was named the NABC Central District Coach of the Year after helping the Mavericks reach the NCAA Elite Eight for the second time in team history. MSU’s 32 wins this season are the most in a season in team history. Earlier this season, Margenthaler was named the NSIC Coach of the Year for the fourth time in his career as the Mavericks went on to win the NSIC regular season and tournament championships. Named the head coach at Minnesota State prior to the start of the 2001-02 season, Matt Margenthaler has built one of the top NCAA Division II programs in the nation.
