Denisha Cartwright Starts Outdoor Track & Field Season with NSIC Athlete of the Week Honors

Minnesota State All-American senior sprinter Denisha Cartwright (Nassau, Bahamas) began her outdoor track and field season right where she left off and took in NSIC Women’s Track Athlete of the Week honors on Tuesday, April 2.

Cartwright placed first in the 100m hurdles at the 96th Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays. Her time of 12.81s (2.7s wind) ranks first in NCAA Division II this season and is also the second in NCAA Division II all-time. Additionally, Cartwright placed fourth in the 100m dash with a time of 11.28 (1.6 wind). Her prelim time of 11.17 (2.9 wind) ranks first nationally and broke her own school record. The time of 11.28 also ranks eighth all-time in NCAA Division II history.
