Destress at Sibley Park

Just under two miles from campus, Sibley Park offers an outdoor environment for those looking to get out and about. Sibley Park has many amenities and attractions, making it perfect for a day out. It is located at 900 Mound Avenue. The park is open 6 a.m. – 10 p.m. every day.

One notable attraction is the Sibley Farm. There are animals available to feed and pet. Sibley Farm animals typically include alpacas, calves, goats, peacocks, horses, lambs, chicks, and koi fish. To view these animals, visitors walk through classic red barns. Visitors should be sure to bring a few quarters if they want to feed the animals. The farm is open 6:30 a.m. – 10:30 p.m. each day.

Sibley Park also offers two miles worth of walking trails. The trails highlight the benefits of exercising with signs along the path such as “Exercise is your best medicine.” Everyone can enjoy these trails because there are three different difficulty levels. Easy, moderate, and experienced. This is a great way to get moving and reduce stress through exercise and nature.

There are other recreational opportunities available at Sibley Park. Visitors can fish on the Minnesota River, go sledding in the winter, and use outdoor exercise equipment. Visitors can also view the landscaping, use a picnicking spot, and play softball.

The beautiful nature, animals, and exercise opportunities makes this close-to-campus park the perfect place to go destress.
