On the heels of his 2022 Hobey Baker Award as the nation’s top college men’s hockey player, Maverick goalie Dryden McKay is USA Hockey’s 2022 Jim Johannsen College Player of the Year.

Over the course of his four years of college hockey, McKay helped lead the Mavericks to four regular-season league titles, two league tournament titles, three NCAA tournament appearances, two NCAA regional championships and two NCAA Frozen Four appearances.

McKay completed his college career on April 9 after the Mavericks fell one game short of the national NCAA Division I title losing 5-1 to Denver in the championship round.

Shortly after, McKay signed with the Toronto Maple Leafs where he agreed to a two-year contract with the Toronto Marlies of the American Hockey League.
