Full Day of Competition on Saturday, Sept. 17
Maverick Esports opens the downtown events center to competitors across the Midwest coming for the Rockstar Energy Collegiate Esports Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 17.
The invitation in the Mayo Clinic Health System Event Center will be from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. with Maverick Esports squaring off with at least nine other collegiate teams for gaming competition in Call of Duty, Super SMASH Bros., and Rocket League. At least $5,000 in prize money on the line plus scholarship and giveaway opportunities. The day also features interactive industry booths, meet and greets and appearances by pro NRG players Chell and GarrettG.
Cost of admission is $10. Tickets can be purchased online or at the door. Students wishing to get downtown can take bus Route 10 or 11 to Cherry Street.
Event sponsors include Rockstar Energy, Minnesota ROKKR & Version1 and Dell.
