A new bronze statue commissioned by the Centennial Student Union entitled Sittin’ with Stomper will be unveiled in the CSU on Wednesday, Jan. 17. The statue features the University’s beloved mascot, Stomper, seated on an 8-foot bronze bench that will be permanent placed on the main level of the CSU. A plaque commemorating the spirt of the statue will also be installed near the sculpture.
The recent Supreme Court ruling overturning affirmative action in college admissions will not affect admissions at Minnesota State Mankato. As an open-access institution, Minnesota State Mankato does not use race as a criterion for admission.
Minnesota State Mankato announces the retirement of Rick Straka, Vice President for Finance and Administration, effective February 6, 2024. Recognized individuals receive a commemorative coin and will be honored at an April 2023 reception.
