An encore performance of Wounded Healers, composed and directed by Dr. Timothy Berry, will be Monday, Jan. 20, at 7:30 p.m. in Ted Paul Theatre. The original script expresses ways Blacks through history fostered healing through creativity. The production is among those invited to the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Region V Festival in Des Moines, Iowa, Jan. 22-28.

What is the easiest way to get started with receiving counseling? FROM THE COUNSELING CENTER: Students can make an appointment with the Counseling Center in CSU285 by attending a drop-in screening appointment where they will complete paperwork and see a counselor before they leave. Screening appointments are available Monday through Thursday from 9 to 11 a.m. and Monday though Friday from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Students should allow at least 60 minutes for this first appointment and can stop in when it works best for them.
The Counseling Center has compiled an interactive and downloadable resource book that students can access at any time. It covers a wide variety of topics, from eating disorders to paying rent. When a skate blade severed his carotid artery and sliced his jugular, NHL goalie Clint Malarchuk eventually recovered, but not before struggling with mental illness. Now he speaks about mental illness, its stigma and the path to recovery. Malarchuk’s autobiography, The Crazy Game: How I Survived the Crease and Beyond, will be the focus of a Thursday, Feb. 2, lecture at 7:30 p.m. in the CSU Ballroom. The event is free to the public.
Before Ashrit was booked to the max with his coursework, he took significant responsibility in the International Festival planning. In 2019, he and one other student were the sole planners for Children’s World. He recruited international RSOs and friends to set up age-appropriate children’s booths that taught cultural lessons. In addition, he is an active member in the Computer Engineering department and other STEM organizations.

Trevor Braget is the new program coordinator for the CSU Maverick Bullpen. Overseeing one of the largest university game rooms in the country, Braget returns to the CSU after previously serving as the technical services graduate assistant. Among his first actions as program coordinatore was the creation of a new maverickbullpen Instagram page.
Michelle Harvey is the new assistant director of Leadership, RSOs and Nontraditional Students. She joins the Student Activities team with personal strengths, experience and passion for student involvement and leadership development.
Paul Allan, who retired Dec. 16 as senior deputy director/internal operations after 37 years with Maverick athletics, is the new director of communications for the U.S. Hockey League.
More than 40 members of Minnesota State Mankato’s Maverick Machine Bands travel to Italy over Winter Break where they will perform in the Dec. 30 Frascati Festival and march in the New Year’s Day Parade in Rome. The parade at 8:30 CST will be live-streamed.
